Rajapalayam Rajus’ College, affiliated to the Madurai Kamaraj University, made its humble genesis on 22nd June 1973 and has grown leap and bounds within a short span of three decades. It has been approved by UGC under 2F and 12B of the UGC Act.  In the most recent assessment by NAAC, the college has been re-accredited with “B++” grade (3rd Cycle) in recognition of its all round academic excellence, research programmes and social outreach activities.

 This edifice of higher education offers 7 Aided Programmes 12 Self-Financed Programmes apart from the Certificate and Diploma Programmes. It has 43 Staff in Aided stream and 70 staff in Self-Financed Stream. ‘Service to Poor is Service to God’, accordingly, the institution seeks priority in admitting the poor, downtrodden and marginalized section of the society at an affordable cost. The total strength crosses 2200, of which women outnumber men.

Last few years have been extremely successful and satisfying in terms of accomplishments and accolades in scholastic, co-scholastic and infrastructural development areas with the generous contribution of Palayapalayam Rajus’ Mahumai Fund.  The commitment of our faculty is to work with a view to scaling the zenith of glory through the concerted effort of all stakeholders.

The phenomenal academic achievements of our students have always added glory to the college by securing high University Ranks. The college has a tradition of excelling in Sports and extracurricular activities by creating world record in Silambam and students continue to bring laurels at the university, zonal and national levels year after year. The Principal provides a conducive ambience for the intellectual pursuit of staff and students. The outstanding achievements of the staff and students throughout the years bear testimony to the academic excellence of our institution with the insight ‘Tomoso ma jyotirgamoy’ i.e. ‘from darkness lead us to the light’.
