The department of physics was established in the year 1980 to handle Ancillary physics for II year B.Sc chemistry students. In the academic year 1987-1988, B.Sc (Physics) was introduced.
The department has highly qualified and well experienced faculty members with doctorate degree engaged in teaching, research, and continuing education programmes. The department has also received grants for carrying out minor projects from funding agencies like UGC. The staff members updates their knowledge on global trends and break through by attending and presenting paper in National and International Conferences. Our Physics department students got many University ranks for every year particularly Ms.V. Jeyalakshmi got I RANK during the academic year 2018-2019. Many research work is undergoing. Our staff members has published papers more than 100 papers so far.
